“HANDLE THAT”
She had done everything right and was the picturesque wife but when she went to her husband with good news she was not met with the celebration she expected. He told her to “Handle That”. The pain devastated her and she had almost lost all hope when a small glimpse of joy saved her. After that moment she vowed to meet the difficulties of this journey with unwavering bravery.
"THE DOCTOR RECOILED"
The Emergency Room Doctor recoiled and looked at her in horror. He asked “Did you feel that?” as he withdrew his hands. Fear rose up inside her as she imagined all of the possibilities. She ran the gambit of possible outcomes from cancer to a spider laying eggs in her stomach. What she saw on the Ultrasound machine that day would change her life forever.
"NEWFOUND JOY"
The restaurant she worked at was at capacity when police entered and closed it down. The Governor had declared a state of emergency and life as she knew it was about to change. Through all of the anxiety and restlessness she found a newfound sense of purpose. Joy was found where she least expected it.

At just three years old she suddenly lost her Mom. Though her dad did his best, he could never fill the shoes of the parent that she never got the chance to know. Citing her close relationship with her mother’s sisters, she feels a lasting tie to her mother. Though her journey without her Mom was difficult, she has always felt a closeness and a desire to make her proud.

When the lease on her awful apartment was up she was faced with an impossible decision: neglect her aging Mother’s needs or leave behind her best friend. She had spent her entire life within 30 minutes of her childhood home so a move of this magnitude was not a decision she made lightly. Things started to fall into place for her and before she knew it, she was navigating the complexities of a new life. In spite of the struggle, she doesn’t regret her choice.

She was in her thirties and could feel her hopes of becoming a tattoo artist slipping away. After a decade of trying to get an apprenticeship she began to wonder if she would ever be the artist that dreamed of being. When her first apprenticeship ended, she described it as the worst few months of her life. She feared that her time had passed. When a friend reached out over social media, it changed her life forever.
